Libros Para Pueblos is a small group of readers living in Oaxaca, Mexico. Since the mid-1990s we have been sharing our passion for reading with the children who live around us. Working with our donors we now have more than 65 libraries located throughout one of the poorest states in Mexico. We are also putting computers into our most isolated villages and providing free eyecare in the communities where we are located. One library at a time reading is becoming part of the culture of Oaxaca.
"Many things we need can wait. The child cannot. Now is the time his bones are formed, his mind developed. To him we cannot say tomorrow, his name is today."
