Library tour – San Luis Beltrán
March 12@10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Located only 30 minutes from Oaxaca city, San Luis Beltran is an small Agencia where Libros Para Pueblos supports the only library in the community, located in the primary school. There, the parents of the stundents put their efforts to build a modest library using “lamina” and wood. With the time they found the funds to repair and old classroom to serve as library, with the help of LPP now they have a bigger collection of books to promote reading among their children.
After spending an hour in the library to read with children and talk with teachers and parents, we will visit the facilities of CAMPO A.C. which is a non-profit well-stablished in the community, that helps community programs and provide training for free to community members in sustainable agriculture, warm-compost and the use of alternative energies. In this way they are strengthening the growth of this community.
Join us on this special tour (donation requested). A minimum of 3 people is requested and space is limited to 15 participants. For more information contact LPP staff at firstname.lastname@example.org or 951 192 9600 (cell). Sign-up sheet will be available at OLL circulation desk until March 10 at 03:00 pm.
