Every year LPP organizes an Annual Conference on the last Saturday in February. Two representatives from each library attend, bringing together an average of 170 people, including library managers, library administration authorities, volunteers, Regional Coordinators, staff, workshop trainers, and presenters.
During the conference, each person attends training workshops on topics such as: facilitating reading promotion activities, Rutas Literarias, storytelling, puppetry, book repair, basic administration of libraries, inventory management, supplemental activities to reading, etc.
The conference is also an open space for the exchange of experiences between members of the LPP network. During the event, participants have the opportunity to chat with each other, offering mutual support and advice, while strengthening support networks among reading promotors.
At the end of the daylong event, attendees receive the book collection for that year and sign collaboration agreements that establish the rules for the relationship between LPP and the libraries. A critical requirement for receipt of new books is attendance at all LPP-organized training sessions throughout the year and the Annual Conference.
